S.D.P. CELEBRATES MAHA SHIVRATRI
Maha Shivratri Festival was celebrated with great pomp and show in the premises of SDP Sr. Sec. School, Hazuri Road, Ludhiana. Students presented their views chanted; Bhajans on this occasion Tandav dance and Tableaus were presented.
President Sh. Balraj Kumar Bhasin congratulated the students and motivated them to participate in such events with full zeal.

After over ten months of closure due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, schools for students of Classes 1 and 2, will reopen on February 1, Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla informed on Friday.
"Following the conditional approval of the state government, all government, aided and private schools are set to reopen for class 1 and 2 and pre-primary classes from February 1," a statement from the state government quoted Singla.
"Parents firmly support the decision of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh," the cabinet minister said, adding that detailed safety guidelines have also been sent to the schools and officials and school management have been told to strictly comply.
Singla further said that since students of pre-primary classes are younger, department officials and the management have been directed to remain more attentive, and schools have been asked to prepare a special seating plan to maintain physical distancing.
"Principals and school teachers have also been directed to reach out to the parents through various means of communication including public address systems to make them aware of safety norms," Singla said, advising students that apart from schools, they should avoid visiting other places.
Students from Class 5 to 12 had started going to school on January 7.

School education minister directs all school managements to strictly comply Covid-19 precautions
Chandigarh, January 6:
Punjab school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Wednesday, said that following the persistent demand of parents, the state government has decided to reopen all government, semi-government and private schools from January 7 onwards. Mr. Singla said that the timings of the schools will be from 10 am to 3 pm and students only from class V to XII will be allowed to attend physical classes in the schools.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that while giving his nod, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh directed them to ensure the safety of the children amid Covid-19 pandemic. He added that following the directions of the CM, all school managements have been asked to strictly comply with the directions of the government specially advisory issued by the health department to avert the threat of contraction of coronavirus.
The cabinet minister informed that the education department had taken feedback from the school heads and besides ensuring safety of the children, they have also suggested the department to reopen the schools before the annual exams for final revision of the students.
"CM Capt. Amarinder Singh has launched "Mission Shat Pratishat '' while presiding over a mega event of Smart Phone distribution to the students of class XII on November 07, last year. After announcement, the whole education department, specially the school teachers, have been geared up to turn the vision of the CM into reality by putting in dedicated efforts at the cutting edge level," the Education Minister further added while lauding the teachers for acting as real Corona warriors to provide quality education facilities to the students.

Declamation contest and slogan writing competitions were organized to highlight the life and teachings of the great Saint. Sh.Sham Sunder Malhotra applauded the efforts of the students. He also shared his views to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and maintain cleanness for health hygiene. Sh. Surinder Arora sanitry inspector(MCl) also laid stress to avoid the use of plastic. Students were pledged by the Chief Guest not to use plastic for eco-friendly environment.

Timings of Schools to change from October 1
The Punjab Government has issued an order to change the timings of all the government, private aided and recognized schools in the state.
Disclosing this, a spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that the new timings for the said primary schools would be from 9 am to 3:00 pm while the Middle, High and Senior Secondary Schools would run from 9:00 am to 3:20 pm.
The changed timings will be effective from 1st October, 2018 till further orders.

FAREWELL PARTY AT S.D.P. SCHOOL
A wonderful adieu was given to the seniors by 10+1 students (Science, Commerce and Arts) of S.D.P. by presenting an exquisite extravaganza. To make it a memorable day the school campus was beautifully decorated.
Sh. Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd.), conveyed his best wishes and expressed his lofty expectations from the outgoing students.
Sh. Dhari Shah Singla, member managing committee and Smt. Indu Khurana Graced the Occasion.
The function was started with a welcome speech followed by a “JYOTI PRAJJAWALAN” invoking upon the blessings of the Almighty. The school was decked up with flowers which gave a spiritual ambience.
One minute games and the dance performances of the students were the main attractions of the function which made students enjoy the occasion in a fun filled way. Students tapped their feet on the beats of Punjabi song and rocked the floor with ‘BHANGARA’. Students of class 10+2 showed nostalgic emotions through music.
A contest for the title Mr. S.D.P. was held

NCC Cadets of S.D.P SR. SEC. SCHOOL HAZURI ROAD, LUDHIANA attended NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP (PART-2) at Ropar Cadet Shivansh was awarded with Gold Medal for Best Drill in the Camp.
Five cadets of the school also attended ARMY ATTACHMENT CAMP AT FIROZPUR. The performance of the cadets was appreciated by the camp organizers.

Sh. Lekh Raj Arora was the chief Guest of the Morning Session. Sh.Balraj Kumar Bhasin was the chief guest of closing session who awarded and blessed the extra-ordinary students.

The students presented Bhangra ,Pop Dance, Mimicary,Mime, Group Dance,Solo Dance,Mehfil -e-Kawali. .. The fest began with melodious “SARASWATI VANDANA “. The choreography based on Mythology was the star attraction and kept the audience spell bound.
In his presidential address Sh.Balraj Kumar Bhasin emphasized that such activities are source of recalling the rich culture of India. Sh. Jasveer Singh Chauhan, Principal explained the importance of the festival and congratulated the participants for their glorious performance. Celebration of International Youth Day
S.D.P Sr. Sec. School, Hazuri Road, Ludhiana. Celebrated International Youth Day in school campus. On this special day the youths were motivated to take part in eradicating the social evils like drugs, aids, corruptions, female foeticite etc. Nearly 150 students took part in Slogan writing, Human chain forming and Interschool discussions.
Sh. Balraj Kumar Bhasin President S.D.P Sabha and Institutions called for the youth to extend their whole hearted efforts for the nation building and upkeeping the moral and social values.
Sh. Jasveer Singh Chauhan Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the roadmap of country upto 2030. The youths have to set targets for the progress and prosperity of their country.
